Lucas served as the United Nations Environment Programme’s Advocate for Clean Air from 2018 to 2024. The role brought his experience in electric racing to a wider conversation about air pollution and sustainable mobility.
His appointment supported BreatheLife, a clean-air campaign led jointly by UN Environment, the World Health Organization and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition.
