Exploring AI in 2018.
In 2018, Lucas and his collaborators were already exploring how artificial intelligence could operate in the real world. Autonomous racing offered a demanding environment for testing ideas about machine perception, decision-making and performance.
His work with Roborace was one chapter in that exploration: an opportunity to experiment, challenge assumptions and learn at the intersection of human ambition and machine intelligence.
